faces

this is my senior art show at wheaton college.  i painted these faces with fabric dye and a photo enlarger in a dark room.  it was delightful. these are all people i find to be precious and beautiful.

this is also the beginnings of my working with flowing fabric.  i love it. i loved watching these blow in the wind. it was beautiful.  just as skirts are in the wind.

this project reminded me of the work of christo and jeanne-claude, who are my artistic heros.  it is especially reminiscent of running fence.  like a kid with a drawing for her mom, i printed out pictures to send to christo ... which eventually led to working with him on the gates of central park in new york.  he and jeanne claude are lovely.
